The Blue Ridge Shop is now closed!

Our Blue Ridge shop is now closed and we have moved our shop inventory back home to become a fully online shop. Once we get our fabrics unpacked at home, we'll re-open our Etsy shop and have a great sale to celebrate the new changes that will take place in 2015. Look for lots more fabrics to be added, and we will still offer our Sewing classes and longarm machine rental beginning this summer. Stay tuned!
Quilting and Sewing Classes
Although we have moved our shop home, we will still offer our sewing classes on demand. We will begin our classes this summer, and will include classes for adults and sewing lessons and summer sewing camp for children. We specialize in teaching beginners to intermediate students how to make great looking items and have fun doing it. Even if you've never touched a sewing machine before, we will have you creating beautiful items in no time! Feel free to contact us for more information!
1 Million Pillowcase Challenge
Stitch and Whimsy is a participating shop for the 1 Million Pillowcase challenge. We have created 6 pillowcases so far, all of which will soon find new homes with local Fannin County children. Every pillowcase we make will help count towards the goal of donating a grand total of 1 Million, but we still get to keep our donations local! If you'd like to sew up a pillowcase or two, we have some kits already pre-cut with a simple pattern that you can purchase from our Etsy shop. Or, you can donate the price of a kit and we will sew up the pillowcase on your behalf! Contact us for more information!
Kids Can Sew Program coming in 2015!
Laurie is a registered Instructor for the Kids Can Sew Program, and we will offer our program and sewing lessons in our home studio beginning Summer 2015. Stay tuned for more details soon. If you'd like more information about the program, feel free to contact us!
Stitch and Bitch every Thursday beginning in June 2015!
Join us every Thursday beginning in June 2015 in our home studio from 12-?pm for Stitch and Bitch! All craters are welcome, whether you sew, knit, crochet, or some other craft. Come and have a cup of coffee and bring your yarn and needles and let's get stitchin'! I welcome you into my home for a place to connect with other local crafters or get help with your UFO (UnFinished Objects). Contact us for directions to our house and to give us a head's up if you plan to attend so we will make sure to keep your seat warm!
