Stitch and Whimsy Fabric Shop

 

It all started with a bolt of fabric in my living room. I bought it to save money and figured I could use a few yards for myself and then sell the rest and my fabric stash began. It grew to the basement and garage and when it started taking over our living spaces, I knew it was time to move into our own shop! We were a mail-order company for about 8 years before opening up our shop to the public. We had a shop in Blairsville, GA that did very well, but the building did not suit our needs and we decided to move to a shop in Blue Ridge, GA. The shop itself was beautiful and we loved it there, but the overhead was just taking too much of our profits and we were unable to grow and offer new fabrics to our customers. After a ton of soul-searching, we decided to move it all back home and focus on our online shop.

 

Now, we are  offering more items and services than ever before! Not only do we carry bright and modern quilting fabrics, we also carry various types of fabric for other sewing projects. We also carry notions and a huge inventory of sewing patterns and books.

 

We have a bright and cheerful home sewing studio where sewists of all levels are welcome to join us in classes or during our free "stitch and bitch" sessions on Thursdays (starting Summer 2015) work on individual projects and make new crafting friends.

 

In Summer 2015, we will also offer long arm quilting services to our customers, as well as renting our machine to those who would like to quilt their own tops. Our home-based shop will be as inviting as the local one was, perhaps more-so, with a room full of windows to show off the beautiful niew of my backyard mountain. Our full line of stitching services will include custom embroidery and vinyl applications as well.
